New Voting Law – Effective August 27, 2022

A new voting law is in effect for all Missouri voters. Voters who cast a ballot in person at their polling place or during absentee voting will need to show a photo ID issued by the state of Missouri or the federal government. Examples include a Missouri driver’s license, a Missouri non-driver’s license, a U.S. passport, or a military ID. If a voter does not have one of these IDs, they can still vote with a blue provisional ballot, which will be counted if their signature matches the signature on their voter registration record.

For voters that cannot make it to the polling place on Election Day, absentee voting begins on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, for the November 8th General Election. Eligible voters can come to the Audrain County Clerk’s Office, 101 N. Jefferson, Room 101, Mexico, MO, to cast an absentee ballot. Voters must bring a photo ID, such as a Missouri driver’s license, passport, or military ID, in order to vote in person.

To request a mailed absentee ballot, applications are online at www.audraincounty.org or voters may contact the Clerk’s office to have an application mailed to them.

Voters can also take advantage of a new no-excuse absentee voting period this fall. Beginning October 25th and continuing through 5 pm on November 7th, all registered Audrain County voters can vote in person at the Audrain County Clerk’s Office, 101 N. Jefferson, Room 101, Mexico, MO.
